Kitesurfing

Kitesurfing is currently one of the most popular trends in sports worldwide. Equipped with a kite and a board, it has also been possible to race across the water in a defined area in front of the Rohrspitz since 2007.

The set-up area southwest of the harbor exit is about 50 meters wide, at low tide; the standing area (up to about one kilometer from the shore) is very large. Kitesurfing is only allowed at a distance of 200 meters from the shore. From the set-up area, a corridor of approx. 100 meters in width leads to the lake area, which has been cleared for surfing.

Any violation of the regulations will result in a surfing ban for that individual. The boards must be labeled with name, address and telephone number (requirement of the authorities). Unfortunately, we do not provide kiteboarding equipment.

The kite permit for 2020 is expected to be valid from May 10th and is, again, limited until the 1st of November 2020.
